Urban Woman Magazine, a digital feminist magazine is calling for submissions to its online publication around the theme of feminism, in a bid to explore the diverse and intersectional experiences of women of different races, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation by listening to them and telling their stories as it is.
Feminism has helped the world to unlearn and relearn important issues which affect women, and the team at Urban Woman Magazine believe that these conversations need to be amplified and not reduced.
“At Urban Woman Magazine, we are constantly seeking out articles that are not just thought and discussion provoking, but are also evidence-based,” said Blessing Iyamadiken, Editor in Chief of Urban Woman Magazine.
Women experience so much while living in a patriarchal society, but there is not much conversation that happens around it. This is what Urban Woman Magazine seeks to change.
Contributors are welcome to write on issues that they like as long as they revolve around gender equality and feminism. Ideas which can also be explored include,
• Parenting, pregnancy, miscarriage, infertility• Weight, eating disorders, body ‘type’• Reproductive health• Ageing• Gender identity• Health and health policies• Race and skin• Disability• Beauty, makeup.
However, please note, Urban Woman Magazine does not publish fiction or poetry. It publishes only non-fiction.
“We are sharing women’s experiences with the world through these articles, starting important conversations and amplifying minority voices when necessary,” Blessing Iyamadiken continues.
All articles not less than 700 words, can be submitted to Urban Woman Magazine via [email protected]. The timeline for approval of the article is no more than 7 days.
